Reading assistantScientific Learning Reading Assistant combines advanced speech recognition technology with the latest reading science to help even reluctant readers strengthen their vocabulary, fluency, and comprehension to become proficient, confident readers. As a child reads aloud, the program “listens,” providing help at just the right moment.
A child can begin by listening to a model reading of the text. They can also click on words for pronunciations, contextually appropriate meanings and usages, illustrations, and Spanish translations. With the goal of strengthening their understanding and learning, comprehension activities direct a child’s attention to critical information and vocabulary. When the child finishes reading, the text is color-coded to show areas in need of review before re-reading. |
